Tigers Take Second In West Division With Shutout Of Earlham

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — The Wittenberg Tigers dominated visiting Earlham 9-0 to move into sole possession of second place in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) West Division.

The win moved the Tigers to 10-7 overall and 2-1 in the NCAC West, positioning them for a better seed in the season-ending NCAC Tournament.

Wittenberg dropped just one game in three doubles matches. Junior Jayne Miely (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) and sophomore Jackie Stevens (Columbus, Ohio/Watterson) blanked their opponent at No. 2 doubles and sophomore Maggie Stewart (Bay Village, Ohio/Magnificat)and senior Sean Delaney (Powell, Ohio/Worthington Christian) did the same at the No. 3 position.

The Tigers dropped just seven games in six singles matches. A total of four players wound up double winners on the day.
