DAYTON, Ohio — The Wittenberg women's tennis team went up against nearby NCAA Division I opponent the University of Dayton Wednesday evening and came away with a 7-0 loss. Some solid competition saw the Tigers slip to 9-7 overall.
The courts saw some great action despite the sweep, as junior Rachel Bundy (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover) fought in No. 6 singles to a 6-3, 6-1 loss, and senior Emily Nash (Hilliard, Ohio/Davidson) lost 6-2, 6-1 in No. 3 singles. Sophomore Anne Beauch (North Canton, Ohio/Massillon Jackson) won three games in the first set before falling 6-0 in the second at No. 2 singles.
The Tigers return home to face North Coast Athletic Conference West Division opponent Earlham on Tuesday, April 20 at 4 p.m.
