Springfield, OH -- The Wittenberg Swim and Dive team hosted the Bishops of Ohio Wesleyan University for a dual match Saturday afternoon. The Tigers came away with their first relay win of the season in the women's 200 free relay with a three second gap victory. Swimmers were Mackenzie Schuld, Michelle Murray, Carissa Schroeder, Bridget Logan finishing with a time of 1:49.62. Logan also pulled in another win in the 50 yard free, holding with the competition until pulling away at the turn for a 25.81 time. Winning the 1000 yard free was Abby Dunasky with a time of 11:48.74, four second faster than her previous time. Dunasky led the entire race and was at one point four laps ahead of an OWU swimmer. Parker Roach came in with a tight victory in the 200 yard freestyle, winning first less than a second faster than the second place finisher. Roach came in with a finish of 1:56.83. Another milestone for Emma Hellmann, breaking the 3-meter 6-dive record with 257.85 who also won both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives.
Other victories include:
- Evan Massey picked up first place in the 50 yard free with a time of 26.86. Massey also set a new PR in the 100 yard with a time of 58.5
- With a very tight victory, Schuld took first by .14 seconds in the 200 yard IM timing out at 2:22.50. She also grabbed the 100 yard fly in 1:04.04
- Zach Parkman collected a victory in the 100 yard butterfly clocking in at 54.10
- Grabbing a third victory, Logan won the 100 yard freestyle at 56.89, eight seconds faster than her competitor
- Winning the 500 yard freestyle, Quaid O'Brien came in at 5:23.88, seven seconds faster than second place
- Murray and Schroeder dropped two seconds each from their 100 yard backstroke times
- Doug Heighton succeeded his 200 yard freestyle time by finishing two seconds faster than previous
Tigers will not be seen until December2-4 when they head to the mid-season invite at the College of Wooster.
