Wittenberg Falls To Wabash In Dual Meet

Neil Anderson

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. - Although Wittenberg could not leave Wabash with a win, they had a strong meet, particularly from Neil Anderson (Lakewood, Ohio/Lakewood), who was a part of every Tiger first place finish in swimming events. He had a career day, placing first in every event in which he raced, as the Tigers lost the meet against the Wabash Little Giants, 137-95.

Anderson pulled out all the stops, taking first place finishes in multiple events. It started with the 1000-yard freestyle, continued with the 500-free, and finished with the 400-yard freestyle relay, where Anderson swam the lead leg.

Freshman Matt Higbee (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) picked up a second place finish in the 50-free, while teammate Brad Szerlip (Mount Vernon, Ohio/Mount Vernon) was second to touch in the 100-butterfly. First-year swimmer Danny Nicholas (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) pulled in right behind Anderson in the 500-free, and senior Nick Pierson (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) posted a second-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Tiger diver Matt Erenpreiss (Columbus, Ohio/Centennial) took 3-meter diving top honors, backed up by sophomore diver Dan Jackson (Dayton, Ohio/Carroll) who placed second.

Next up for both the men and women is a home meet versus Ohio Northern on Friday, Nov. 16, beginning at 6 p.m.
