Tiger Teams Cruise Past Hiram

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg men's and women's swimming and diving teams inched closer to the conclusion of the 2006-07 dual meet season with another impressive victory, this time by a pair of wide margins over visiting Hiram College.

The Tiger men claimed a 183-97 victory, thanks in part to a strong performance from senior Sean Wolf (White Lake, Mich./Walled Lake Central), who captured victories in the 200 free, 100 free and 100 fly.

First-place finishes were also turned in by sophomore Chris Banas (Huntington Woods, Mich./Detroit Catholic Central) in the 1000 free, freshman Taylor Smith (Mansfield, Ohio/Senior) in the 100 back, senior Matt Reiss (Beavercreek, Ohio/Carroll) in the 100 and 200 breast, freshman Neil Anderson (Lakewood, Ohio/Lakewood) in the 200 fly, junior Brian Harris (Harrisonburg, Va./Harrisonburg) in the 50 free, senior Cody Nicely (Knoxville, Tenn./Bearden) in the 1-meter diving and junior Jeff Smith (Mansfield, Ohio/Senior) in the 500 free.

The Tiger women were 167-118 victors, led by a trio of double-winners. Freshman Katie Johnson (Springfield, Ohio/North) was the champ in the 100 and 200 breast, Emily Roesch (Oakland, Mich./Lake Orion) topped the field in the 200 and 500 free, and senior Jen Mulligan (Cheyney, Pa./Delaware Valley Friends) showed the way in the 100 and 200 back.

First-place finishes were also turned in by junior Kaitlin Clark (Wakeman, Ohio/Firelands) in the 1000 free, freshman Kristin Elber (Brunswick, Ohio/Brunswick) in the 50 free, junior Courtney Roth (Gurnee, Ill./Lake Forest) in the 1-meter diving and freshman Adeline Brym (Mansfield, Ohio/Lexington) in the 100 free.
