Tigers Hold on to Add Another Win

Springfield, OH-The Women's Soccer team took on the Depauw Tigers at home and were tied or in the league for the entirety of the match and came away with a 3-2 win, as Depauw tried to make a late push. 

The first goal was scored ten minutes into the game by Alex Hill who was assisted on a cross through the box by Ava Otey. Depauw then came back 15 minutes later to answer with a goal of their own. Then, only a couple of minutes before the end of the half, Emma Lindsey found the back of the net off an assist from Brooke Mullis. To take a 2-1 lead into half. 

Only 3 minutes into the second half, Grace Koperna put a rocket into the back of the net from just outside the box as Depauw tried to clear a corner kick from Mullis. Depauw scored once again with 5 minutes left in the match, but Wittenberg held on to end the match with a 3-2 win. 

Leaders-Hannah Heald and Alex Hill each had 3 shots, 1 for each coming on goal. Otey and Mullis each came away with an assist and in goal, Lily Winkle came away with 13 saves on the 15 shots on goal against her. 

Notables-Wittenberg had less fouls than Depauw, with a count of 7-9. Lily Winkle also had 13 saves to the Depauw keeper's 1 on the night. 

Up next-Wittenberg will travel to Oberlin to take on the Yeowomen of Oberlin College on Saturday, October 21st at 1:00 PM.
