Tigers Close Their Season on NCAA Playoffs

Danville, KY -- Falling to the Emory Eagles, the Tigers close their season in the first round of the NCAA tournament. This was the first NCAA tournament appearance for the full roster in their Wittenberg careers. The Tigers powered through their final game, but were unable to reach the net, ending their season 10-9-1. Senior goalkeeper Emma Schewe finished her Tiger career with 106 saves, 85 from this year with an overall .809 save percentage in her four years.

Carrying the middle pressure for the season, senior Emily Wile closes her career playing a total of 50 matches and starting 48 of them. Wile led her Tigers as a top play maker pushing them to an NCAC championship this season. Though there are not numbers to show, she was a strong supporter in the backfield and in the shot box on offense making her presense known on all ends of the field. As a captain, Wile helped teach the underclassmen the ways of head coach Katie Robinson and how to be a successful player in red and white.

Wittenberg will also be losing top defender Maria Miller who played the final minutes of her final match as a forward. Miller tallied 55 matches and seven assists with 27 shots taken in her four year career, 18 on frame. Miller was a stellar back who used her field knowledge to keep her opponents on the outside edges of the field.

The Tigers close their season, winning the NCAC tournament and having an NCAA bid for the first time in four years. Congratulations on a great season.
