Granville, OH -- With a jumpstart to begin the second half, Wittenberg scored in the first 10 minutes and doesn't look back, defeating North Coast Athletic Conference top, the Denison Big Red. The Tigers caught Denison on their heels as junior Brooke Peters sent the ball through to junior Amy Bidwill who chipped it over the keeper's head bouncing into the goal in the 55th minute.

The Tigers came ready to defend their goal, only allowing seven shots to get to senior goalkeeper Emma Schewe's hands. Wittenberg kept the Big Red to the outside, forcing them to send it into the middle where the ball was met with a host of Tigers. With players such as Peters and freshman Sophia Grossman the Big Red had a tough time getting it through the mid and back lines. Wittenberg played with light feet, keeping in front of the ball and stretching the field.

This is the fourth time Wittenberg have defeated Denison in the first round of postseason play, as well as the fourth NCAC postseason win on the road in Tiger history. The Red and White are now 14-9 in overall NCAC postseason action.

Wittenberg heads to the NCAC finals to take on The College of Wooster. The Tigers will be looking to redeem themselves on Saturday, playing for the NCAC title.
