Deleware, OH – The Wittenberg women's soccer team jumped out to an early 2-0 advantage in a crucial NCAC matchup on the road at Ohio Wesleyan on Tuesday evening. The Tiger's put on the pressure from the opening whistle, posting 12 shots with six finding their way on target through the opening half. Wittenberg would claim the 4-0 win on the road, posting 20 shots in total. Keeper Kelly Corbin posted the shutout, making six saves in goal for the Red and White.

Game Breakdown

The Tiger offense came together in the 26th minute, as Maddie Smith tallied her first goal in a Wittenberg uniform. After plenty of early opportunities, Brooke Peters tallied her first assist of the season connecting with Smith, giving Wittenberg the 1-0 lead. Smith and Peters connected just a minute later, as Smith fed Peters the through ball to give Wittenberg their second goal of the first half. Wittenberg maintained the 2-0 lead at the break and continued their attack into the second half. Alix Steele added to the Tiger lead in the 70th minute of action, giving Wittenberg the 3-0 advantage. Wittenberg closed out the game in the 72nd minute of action when Maria Miller found Emily Wile on the free-kick opportunity, and the Tigers went up 4-0.

Wittenberg will return to Edwards-Maurer Field on Saturday, Nov. 2 to host Allegheny at 2:30 PM in the final regular-season NCAC showdown.
