Wittenberg Women's Soccer Tops NCAC Earning United Soccer Coaches Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches announced its Team Academic Award winners for the 2018-19 season and 12 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) teams, seven women's and five men's, received recognition for achieving grade point averages of 3.0 or higher.

On the women's side, Wittenberg registered the highest GPA among conference teams, posting a combined 3.55 GPA. The Wittenberg women's team began the year with a strong start, posting a 3.57 GPA during the fall semester in 2018. Allegheny and Oberlin both registered 3.54 GPAs, while Kenyon (3.46), Ohio Wesleyan (3.41), Wooster (3.35) and Hiram (3.32) also achieved GPAs above 3.0.

Allegheny owned the highest men's soccer GPA, posting a 3.37 in 2018-19. Wooster (3.25), Ohio Wesleyan (3.19), Oberlin (3.15) and Wabash (3.11) were also recognized for their efforts in the classroom.

In total, 992 soccer teams (345 men, 647 women) earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2018-19 year.
