Women's Soccer Welcomes Eight Recruits in Class of 2020

Springfield, Ohio — Wittenberg University Women's Soccer Head Coach Matt Fannon has announced that 8 student-athletes will be joining the Tiger program in August 2016. 

The new recruits join a team that compiled records of 10-6-2 overall and 5-2-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC).The Tigers finished 2015 tied for third-place the final NCAC standings, and earned the No. 4 seed in the NCAC Tournament.

Wittenberg opens the 2016 season on the road game against Thomas More on September 1. The NCAC portion of the campaign will begin with a game at home against Kenyon at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24. 


Taylor Bushman/(Batavia, Ohio/Batavia) 

  • Midfielder; 2nd team all league 2013 and 2014 , earned academic all southwest honors the same year. Plans to major in bio-chemistry/molecular biology with a minor in biology. 
  • Played club for Cincinnati Soccer Alliance. 



Betsy Cadwallader/(Columbus, Ohio/Canal Winchester) 

  • Forward; Honorable mention All-OCC Freshman year, 2nd Team All-OCC Sophomore year, 1st Team All-OCC, 2nd Team All District Junior year, missed senior year due to injury. 
  • Played club for Pride Soccer Club. 



Kelly Corbin /(Fallbrook, California/Rancho Buena Vista)

  • Goalkeeper; Three sport athlete at Rancho Buena Vista, lettering in field hockey, soccer and water polo. All Academic team 2014-2016, Principal award for attaining a GPA above 3.8 2012-16. Plans to major in biology, with minors in neuroscience and spanish at Wittenberg. 
  • Played club for San Diego Surf Soccer Club. 



Kate Hollern/(Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Jerome)

  • Defender; Team Captain in 2015, All-OCC Honorable Mention 2015, OCC Champion in 2013, 2014, and 2015. Valedictorian of class, major at Wittenberg is undecided. 
  • Played club for Ohio Premier. 

Kenzie Mason/(Granger, Indiana/Penn) 

  • Forward; Senior Captain, All Conference Honorable Mention sophomore year, 2nd team junior year, and 2nd team senior year. Academic honor roall all four years of high school, major is currently undecided. 
  • Played club for ECU Soccer. 

Caitlin Murray/(Noblesville, Indiana/Guerin Catholic)

  • 2015 high school graduate, transferring to Wittenberg after one year at the University of Akron, goalkeeper, sectional qualifier at Guerin Catholic, plans to major in sports marketing with a minor in creative writing at Wittenberg. 
  • Played club for Carmel United ECNL as well as Indiana Fire ECNL. 



Emma Thacker/(Mason, Ohio/William Mason)

  • Centerback; 2015 team defensive MVP, 2nd team All Conference, Sectional Champs. 2014 GMC Conference Champs, Regional Champs, state-semifinalists. 2013, Comet Award (MVP), Conference Champs, State Finalists. 2012 Conference Champs. Academic All Southwest Ohio and Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association Academic Excellence Awards (2012-2015). 2013-2016 Principal's Award (4.0+ GPA), 2014-2016 Spanish National Honor Society. 
  • Played club for Warren County Soccer Academy. 

Jordyn Wright /(Forest, Ohio/Riverdale)

  • Forward/midfielder; transfer from Owens Community College. Led Owens in assits both years, sits 4th all time in points, 5th in goals, and 2nd in career assists. Started all 40 games in her career at Owens while receiving 2nd team All Region XII Honors both years. 1st in assists i in region, while team made it to Division I NJCAA Tournament in 2014.
