Matt Drennen, a 2005 graduate of Ohio University, was named assistant coach for field hockey and women's lacrosse at Wittenberg University prior to the 2006-07 school year.

It is Drennen's first collegiate coaching experience. While at Ohio, Drennen worked with the university's football team and filmed the program's daily practice sessions. He also worked with other members of the film crew to input the practice film onto a computer system.

Also during his time at Ohio, Drennen participated in a variety of intramural sports, and he was a member of the Sports Marketing Club. He earned a degree in sports industry with a minor in business.

Before attending Ohio, Drennen was named a Columbus Dispatch Scholar Athlete in 2001.
