Tigers Fall to Yeowomen in Oberlin

Oberlin, OH- Wittenberg headed to Oberlin, OH to take on the Yeowomen of Oberlin College in their fifth conference match-up of the year. After scoring in each of the four quarters, Wittenberg was unable to leave with win after a 15-12 loss.

Wittenberg started from behind with Oberlin getting on the board first but Cecilia Critchfield was able to put Wittenberg's first point up followed by Jessica Flick getting through with an assist from Antavia Horne. Wittenberg then headed into the second quarter down 6-2. The Tigers came out with two back-to-back goals in the second from Katie Wadds and Flick with her second of the game. Critchfield came back in the second quarter with her second goal of the game to bring the Tigers within three. The Red & White were able to get one more goal in the second quarter from Grace Hehman off of an assist from Mya Wolfe to head into the half down 10-6. Scoring in the third was Jessica Flick with two more goals but the Tigers continued to trail heading into the final quarter of play. Flick tallied two more goals in the fourth quarter while Hehman added her second of the game and Hannah Feder put up her first on the night for a final score of 15-12.

Wittenberg Leaders- Wittenberg was led by Jessica Flick on offense with six goals. Katie Wadds led the Tigers in ground balls, picking up five on the day and causing five turnovers from the Yeowomen. Antavia Horne led the Tigers in draw control possessions with five. Leading in goal was Sidney Sheridan with seven saves after facing 17 shots on goal.

NCAC Leaders- Wittenberg has six individuals leading in the conference. Jessica Flick sits at number four for goals on the season with 46 and number six for points with 51. Flick also stands at number two in the NCAC for free position success, going 17-35. Zoe Chirumbolo and Antavia Horne lead in draw controls with Horne at number five and Chirumbolo at number six. A trio of Katie Wadds, Antavia Horne, and Grace Kennedy lead in ground balls with a combined 145 on the season, Wadds leads the pack with 60. Horne and Wadds sit in the top ten for caused turnovers with Wadds leading again with 37 on the season. For goalie statistics, Sidney Sheridan sits in the top five at number three for save percentage in the conference with 48.9%.
