Tigers Fall to #21 Big Red

Springfield, OH- Wittenberg returned to Edwards-Maurer field for their third conference match-up of the season against the Denison Big Red. The Tigers had a tough battle ahead against the #21 Denison. The Red & White were able to put five on the board but fell with a final score of 26-5.

Wittenberg was able to get on the board first with a goal from Grace Hehman off of an assist from Katie Wadds but the Big Red quickly answered back, taking the Tigers into the second quarter down 6-1. Scoring in the second quarter for Wittenberg was Jessica Flick with a hat trick and Antavia Horne with one to give the Tigers their final goals of the game.

Wittenberg Leaders- Wittenberg was led by Jessica Flick on offense with three goals. Mya Wolfe led the Tigers in ground balls, picking up three on the day. Leading in goal was Sidney Sheridan with six saves after facing 20 shots on goal.

NCAC Leaders- Wittenberg has six individuals leading in the conference. Jessica Flick sits at number six for goals on the season with 37 and tied at number eight for points with 42. Flick also stands at number one in the NCAC for free position success, going 15-31. Zoe Chirumbolo and Antavia Horne lead in draw controls with Chirumbolo at number four and Horne at number eight. A trio of Katie Wadds, Antavia Horne, and Grace Kennedy lead in ground balls with a combined 124 on the season, Wadds leads the pack with 49. Horne, Wadds, and Chirumbolo sit in the top ten for caused turnovers with Wadds leading again with 27 on the season. For goalie, both Sidney Sheridan sits in the top five at number four for save percentage in the conference with 50.8%.
