Tigers Fall To The Big Red

Springfield, OH- Wittenberg returned home for their first match-up against the Big Red in their 2021 campaign. The Tigers went into the game with an 0-2 record and faced a tough Denison team with speed.

Denison started the first half with speed and quickly put up seven unanswered goals. Sophomore, Cechilia Critchfield was able to respond at the 17:20 mark with an unassisted goal and lessen the gap. Wittenberg was not able to put anymore marks on the board while the Big Red came back with six more goals to head into halftime with a 13-1 score.

Denison made less of an impact in the second half but the Tigers struggled to keep up. Freshman, Jessica Flick was able to get through Denison defense at 18:34 with an unassisted goal to give Wittenberg their second point of the game. Denison was able to take the game with a final 19-2 score.

Up Next: The Tigers will be back in action on March 27th to take on Denison again. Wittenberg will be on the road for a 1PM game. Fans will be able to watch the action live at wittenbergtigers.com.
