Red And White Fall In Road Match

Lexington, KY- The Tigers headed down to Lexington, KY for a road match against the Pioneers of Transylvania in their second game of the 2021 season. After a tough 15-3 loss, Wittenberg's record is now 0-2.

Transylvania was able to start the game with a hot streak, scoring seven unanswered goals until freshman, Jessica Flick, was able to connect with the back of the net on a free position shot. Wittenberg defense was able to slow the Pioneers for the last fifteen minutes of the first half and didn't allow goals after the 15:35 mark. The Red and White went into the half down with a score of 7-1.

The Tigers were able to get on the board first in the second half with an unassisted goal from junior, Katurah Emery to make it 7-2. Transylvania was able to get their momentum back and put seven more points on the board to make it 14-2. Flick was able to come back at the end of the second half with an unassisted goal. Transylvania was able to put one more point on the board to end the game with a 15-3 score.

Up Next: The women will be back at home on the 25th to take on Denison on Edwards-Maurer Field. Only pre-registered spectators will be allowed attendance at the match-up but all fans will be able to watch the action at wittenbergtigers.com
