Tigers Place Two On All-NCAC Squad

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio -- Wittenberg women's lacrosse placed two members on the All-North Coast Athletic Conference Squad, the league office announced on Tuesday. The Tiger's honorees were highlighted by second-team attacker Victoria Zysik, and honorable mention selection Emily Wadds. Wittenberg finished the 2017 campaign with a 5-11 overall mark and a 3-5 NCAC record.

Zysik landed on the second-team for the second consecutive year, as the senior Perrysburg native led the Tigers in 2018 with 17 assists on the season and nine free position goals. Zysik picked up 25 ground balls on the year with 18 coming in NCAC contests. A headache for the opposing offenses all year long, Zysik recorded 47 caused turnovers, as the Tigers totaled 120 as a team. Averaging 3.3 points per NCAC game, scoring 18 goals with eight assists, Zysik would finish her senior season with 29 goals and 46 points.

A staple of the Tiger's offense for the third year in a row, Wadds earned honorable mention honors at attack after averaging 3.7 points-per-game in 2018. The Cincinnati, Ohio native recorded 50 goals and seven assists in total on the year, accounting for nearly 30% of the Wittenberg goals this season. Wadds 57 points led Wittenberg, as the junior has totaled 138 goals, 31 assists and 118 ground-balls in three seasons in Springfield.

Oberlin's senior Natalie Rauchle and the Denison duo of senior Leah Israel and junior Jane Goodspeed were named the Players of the Year to highlight the 2018 All-North Coast Athletic Conference women's lacrosse team after balloting by the league coaches.
