Trio of Tiger Hat-Tricks Result in 20-6 Victory

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio—The Wittenberg Tigers welcomed the Bulldogs of Adrian to Springfield with an offensive barrage of goals in the non-conference affair. The Tigers had three different player score hat-tricks in the game, Carrie Kubasta (Medina, Ohio/Medina) Madeline Stock (Maineville, Ohio/Kings) and Victoria Zysik (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg), while junior Becca Joseph (Toledo, Ohio/St. Ursula) netted five goals for the Tigers. The win moves the Tigers to a perfect 4-0 on the young season while Adrian moves to 1-5 on the year.

GAME BREAKDOWN

  • The Tigers scored the first nine goals of the game, and led 13-1 at the half.
  • The 13 first-half goals for the home team came from eight different players.
  • Wittenberg carried on in the second-half, outscoring Adrian 7-5.
  •  Mary Furlong (Louisville, Kentucky/Sacred Heart) and Katie Reuter (Cleveland, Ohio/Hathaway Brown) combined for five saves in net in the Tiger victory.

  • "The team played really well together as one unit tonight…I am really happy, and even more excited, to see how many scoring threats we have on this year's team. Moving forward we need to stay grounded, and work hard for these next two days before we travel to take on a non-conference opponent, Mount Union," said Coach St. Pierre.

UP NEXT

  • Wittenberg travels to Mt. Union on Saturday, the 19th to take on Mt. Union at 1:00PM, before returning home to take on NCAA Division II opponent Urbana in Springfield Monday, the 21st at 7:00PM.
