WESTERVILLE, Ohio — Wittenberg women's lacrosse improved to 8-4 overall with a 19-9 win at Otterbein Monday, setting team highs in scoring, assists and points and several other categories along the way.

With the victory, the Tigers achieved a third consecutive season with at least eight wins following 9-6 campaigns in 2010 and 2011, the longest such streak since six straight years between 1985 and 1990.

Eight Tiger athletes scored multiple goals, the highest figure all season, though the balanced offense did not see any player score more than twice. The team posted season highs with 19 goals, 14 assists and 33 points. Amazingly, only six of the Tigers' 25 shots did not find net, and of those, only two were not on goal.

In another first, the Tigers also had three players assist on three goals, including sophomore Alie Marousek (Pittsburgh, Pa./Portsmouth (NH)), who now has four games with three or more assists under her belt in her first season in the Red & White.

The eight Tigers with two goals included Marousek, senior Jennifer Close (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest), junior Erin Guiliano (Loveland, Ohio/Kings), sophomoreNicolette Lyons (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest), sophomore Caroline Eldridge (Amelia, Ohio/McNicholas), freshman Megan Loofbourrow (Prospect, Ky./Ballard), freshman Kim Loofbourrow (Prospect, Ky./Ballard) and freshmanLogan Warye ( Maineville, Ohio/Kings).

Three additional players scored one goal in the game, including sophomoreFrancine Murzynski (Mentor, Ohio/Lake Catholic), junior Kellen Morrissey (Aurora, Colo./Smoky Hill) and freshman Beth Hubbard (West Hartford, Conn./Notre Dame de Sion (Mo.)).

Joining Marousek in the assist column were Morrissey and Warye with three, Murzynski with two, and one each from Eldridge, Kim Loofbourrow and freshmanLindsey Gaterman (St. Louis, Mo./Webster Groves).

In goal, sophomore Jessica Jensen (Hartland, Wisc./Arrowhead) stopped eight Otterbein shots in 60 minutes of work to pick up the win.

The Tigers outscored the Cardinals 10-3 in the first half, just one goal short of their season-high 11 first half goals from Saturday's 18-3 win over Saint Vincent, and went on to win the second half 9-6.

The 2012 regular season schedule concludes with three straight North Coast Athletic Conference games, two of them at home in Springfield, starting with Allegheny (7-6, 1-2 NCAC) on Saturday, April 21 at Noon at Edwards-Maurer Field.
