Tigers Sprint Past Waynesburg By Big Margin

WAYNESBURG, Pa. - The Wittenberg Tiger women's lacrosse team hit their opener of a two-games-in-two-days stretch in style, overwhelming host Waynesburg 17-2 for their fifth win of the season.

Ten different players got in on the scoring for Head Coach Kati Robbins' squad as they accrued their highest goal output of the season. Three goals from three players, including sophomore Jordan Beauchamp (Noblesville, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) told the story on this night as the Red & White returned to the Keystone State for the second time in as many weekends.

Beauchamp added a pair of helpers on the night, including on the eventual game-winning goal from senior Beth Vonderbrink (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame)early in the first half. Ten unanswered goals in the first half and a 33-16 edge in shots sent the Tigers on their way.

A quick turnaround sends the Tigers to Meadville, Pa., for an important North Coast Athletic Conference meeting with Allegheny for a 12 p.m. start. The Tigers sit at 5-2 and 1-0 in NCAC play.
