Winning Streak Stopped at Tigers Fall on Road

LATROBE, Pa. - Hot off one of the biggest wins in recent history over North Coast Athletic Conference rival Ohio Wesleyan, the Tiger women's lacrosse team could not parlay the momentum into a road victory as they fell to St. Vincent, 9-6. With goals sparse, the Tigers could not take advantage of a 37-22 shot advantage.

Down 4-0 midway through the first half, a flurry of Tiger goals, led by a strike from freshman midfielder Jenn Close (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest brought the Tigers to within one.

After the third goal came on a marker from senior Cait Mather (Mason, Ohio/Mason), however, the Tiger offense went silent, with a 28-minute goal scoring drought that spelled defeat for Head Coach Kati Robbins' unit.

Tiger goalkeepers combined for eight saves on the afternoon as the team fell to 4-2 and saw a three-game winning streak halted. A pair of matches in Pennsylvania await, with meetings at Waynesburg and Allegheny on April 10 and 11, respectively. The Tigers meet Waynseburg at 5 p.m. before a noon faceoff with NCAC opponent Allegheny.
