Wittenberg Continues Strong NCAC Play With Road Victory

OBERLIN, Ohio - Head Coach Kati Robbins made the Tigers' goals clear before the outset of the 2009 season - making her Tigers a fixture in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) postseason tournament was a start. Her team took another step toward guaranteeing that with a 20-8 win over Oberlin to pick up its third NCAC win of the season.

Scoring came from all angles and 13 different sticks as the Tigers pounced on the Yeowomen for a 6-0 lead within the opening 10 minutes of play. Plenty of young Tigers found the net, including sophomore Ashley Klingelhoefer (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) whose first career goal came late in half number one.

Freshman Sarah Metze (Dallas, Texas/Wooster (Ohio)) joined in the scoring parade with her first career tally as well.

Defensive standout Hannah Walsh (Rochester, NY/Brighton) scored as well on a day in which Wittenberg controlled a 34-24 shot advantage. The win takes the squad to 7-3 overall and 3-1 in NCAC play with a clash set for Wednesday, April 22 at 7 p.m. against Kenyon College from Edwards-Maurer Field. The game can be heard live online.
