Tigers Pounce On Adrian For 19-5 Win

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - Coming off a win over Washington & Jefferson, the Wittenberg Tigers soundly defeated another opponent, winning big over Adrian, 19-5. The win, which came nearly two months after the game was postponed due to poor weather on Feb. 29, improved the Tigers to 5-5 overall.

The game was over as soon as it began as the Tigers scored 14 unanswered goals to start the first half. The win today was a team effort as all the Tigers saw playing time. Offensively, the Tigers worked in sync with one another as six players contributed two goals apiece in tonight's win. Scoring these goals were seniorMolly Floyd (Shaker Ohio/Hathaway Brown), juniors Lizzie Amorello (Sutton, Mass./Worcester Academy), and Megan Meige (Columbus, Ohio/DeSales), sophomore Chelsea Sickmann (St. Louis, Mo./Ursuline Academy), and freshmenJordan Beauchamp (Noblesville, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) and Lisa Blahut (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles).

Defensively, The Tigers were sound as they only allowed five goals, three of which were in the last two minutes of the game. Beauchamp and Lizzie Amorello both had four caused turnovers, along with freshman Hannah Walsh (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton), who contributed with three caused turnovers.

The Red and White next face Allegheny at home on Saturday, April 19 at 10:30 a.m.
