Springfield, Ohio — The Wittenberg women's lacrosse team took some small steps forward in the 2007 season. Individually, defender Beth Vonderbrink, class of 2009 from Cincinnati, Ohio, took even more significant steps forward to earn second-team All-West Region honors.

The Tigers finished the season with records of 3-11 overall and 0-6 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) under the direction of first-year Head Coach Kati Robbins. Those records were posted for a second straight season.

Vonderbrink, who was chosen second-team All-NCAC in 2007 as well, finished the season with one goal and one assist while starting all 13 games in which she played in 2007. She primarily made her mark on defense, as she finished with more than twice as many ground balls (44) as anyone else on the Wittenberg team and almost twice as many caused turnovers (28).

On a per-game basis, Vonderbrink, also a two-time honorable mention all-conference defensive back in field hockey, ranked second in the NCAC in ground balls and first in caused turnovers.
