Tigers Open Spring Season In Loaded Sunshine State Field

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — Wittenberg opened the second half of the 2009-10 season with a solid finish at the Don Benbow Invitational, hosted by Butler University.

Competing against a field comprised primarily of scholarship programs, the Tigers placed 10th out of 11 teams with a two-day total of 748. Houston Baptist led the way with a 619 as all five players shot 86 or better both days.

Individually, sophomore Anne Busam (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline) led with a 176, including a second-day 84, that earned her a tie for 39th place. Sophomore Nicole Momsen (Sylvania, Ohio/St. Ursula) was next with a 183, followed by freshman Meghann Greene (North Royalton, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) at 193, sophomore Carrie Frey (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas) at 196 and freshman Jenna Lisic (Orrville, Ohio/Orrville) at 200.

The Tigers will measure themselves against scholarship programs again March 19-20 at Northern Kentucky.
