Wittenberg Women's Golf Hosts First-Ever Invitational

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg University women's golf team is hosting its first-ever invitational tournament at Windy Knoll Golf Club in Springfield on Wednesday, April 14. Action gets under way for all nine teams entered in the competition at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start.

Along with host Wittenberg, a first-year varsity program, Wilmington College, Capital University, Otterbein College, the University of Findlay, Ohio Northern University, Ohio Dominican University, Ursuline College and Miami University's Club Team will play in the tournament. Wittenberg will have two teams - a total of 10 players - participating in the event.

"This is very exciting for our program," said Pat Clouse, Wittenberg Head Coach and Tournament Director. "We have a strong field of teams involved, and we are looking forward to measuring ourselves against some of the finest competition in our region."

Windy Knoll, formerly a world-renowned horse farm, is a links-style course that opened in 2002. The par-71, 18-hole course plays 6,800 yards from the professional tees. For the Wittenberg Invitational, the teams will play from the white tees for a yardage of 5,822. It is co-owned by Dan d'Arrigo, Wittenberg Class of 1978.
