Cody Smith joined the Wittenberg women's basketball coaching staff in 2008 following a one-year coaching tenure at her alma mater, Colorado College. She is Wittenberg's first-ever full-time women's basketball assistant coach, and she also serves as one of the athletic department's academic liaisons.

A 2005 graduate of Colorado College, Smith earned a bachelor's degree in psychology before earning her master's in elementary education in 2006. She spent the 2005-06 season as an assistant for the Tigers, with responsibilities that included high school recruiting and scouting. During the 2005-06 campaign, Smith joined current Wittenberg head coach Sarah Jurewicz on the Colorado College coaching staff.

As a collegiate player, Smith served as team captain from 2003-05, while also teaching in basketball camps for elementary and junior high girls. Most recently, Smith taught elementary students at the American School in Tampico, Mexico, for two years.

She currently resides in Springfield, Ohio.
