Tigers Defeat Hiram in Road Game

Hiram, OH- The Tigers headed to Hiram College to take on the Terriers for the second time this season in one of their final regular season match-ups. The last time Wittenberg saw Hiram in action, the Red & White were able to come away with a 61-31 win. This time around, Wittenberg was able to take down Hiram with a score of 69-38.

The Tigers shot 50.9% from the field, 57.1% in three-points and 71.4% from the line going 5-7. Wittenberg was able to put 69 points on the board being led by Kelsey Ragan with 18 points and two rebounds. Defensively, the Tigers were led by Jade Simpson grabbing eight rebounds.

Wittenberg was able to control the first quarter with 21 points, taking a six-point lead over Hiram, followed by a dominating second quarter. The Tigers tallied 20 more points compared to the Terriers eight to head into halftime with a score of 41-23. A tame third quarter left both teams with less than double digits, Wittenberg putting up nine on the board and Hiram putting six up. With a 21-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, the Tigers looked to finalize their 12th conference win and didn't let up on offense, adding 19 more points for a final score of 69-38.

Wittenberg adds their 12th conference win to their season record and improve to a 19-4 overall record. Wittenberg remains in the top spot in the NCAC just ahead of DePauw with a six-game win streak.

Up Next: The Tigers will be back in action on February 18th for their final regular season game against Oberlin at home. Wittenberg will host their Breast Cancer Awareness (Pink) Game, waiving the price of admission and accepting donations with every dollar going towards the Kay Yow foundation.
