Tigers Reclaim Top Spot in NCAC Standings

Granville, OH- Wittenberg headed to Denison to take on the Big Red for the second time this season. The last time the Tigers saw the Big Red, Wittenberg was in the midst of a winning streak and were able to secure a 62-55 win. Once again, the Tigers were able to defeat Denison by seven points with a score of 74-67.

The Tigers shot 50% from the field, 45.5% in three-points, and 50.0% from the line going 7-14. Wittenberg was able to put 74 points on the board being led by Evie Wolshire with 23 points and six rebounds. Defensively, the Tigers were led by Rachel Hartman with eight rebounds and two blocks.

Wittenberg started the first quarter behind, putting up 14 points compared to the Big Red's 17 but were able to bounce back in the second quarter by tallying 18 and only allowing Denison to put up 14 points for a close one-point lead heading into halftime. The Red & White were able to keep the lead in the third quarter with 21 points, increasing their lead by five. The Tigers were able to put 21 more points on the board in the fourth quarter to secure the win and a final score of 74-67.

Wittenberg adds their ninth conference win to their season record and improve to a 16-4 overall record. The Tigers improved record puts them back in the top spot in NCAC standings ahead of DePauw.
