Tigers Defeat Hanover For First Home Win

Springfield, OH -- The Wittenberg Women's Basketball team finished the Tiger Tip Off Tournament with a 74-55 victory over the Hanover Panthers. The Tigers were led by great ball movement and efficient outside shooting, finishing the day shooting 46% from three-point land. Wittenberg was led by two double-double performances from Jade Simpson and Evie Wolshire, combining for 27 points and 22 rebounds. The Tigers improve their record to 4-1 overall going into the Thanksgiving break.

The Tigers came out with their most efficient offensive first half, putting up 43 points on 55% shooting, and 50% on three-point attempts. This efficiency was spearheaded by great scoring performances from Sophomore Kelsey Ragan and Junior Evie Wolshire, with 14 and 12 points respectively. Wittenberg held a 43-28 at the end of the first half.

The Tigers were led by great perimeter defense in the second half, holding Hanover to shooting 4 of 25 from beyond the arc. The Tigers claimed victory in the end by a score of 74-55, giving them their first home win of the season, along with Coach Melissa Kolbe claiming her first home victory inside Pam Evans Smith Arena.
