Win Streak Continues for Tigers in Meadville

Meadville, PA- Wittenberg was back on the road today for their second game of the weekend. They headed to Meadville, PA to take on the Gators of Allegheny in a rescheduled match-up. The Tigers saw the Gators in action earlier in the season, defeating them with a score of 57-46. After another win over the Gators, Wittenberg has hit a six-game win streak. Wittenberg outscored Allegheny with a score of 71-56.

The Tigers were led by Taryn Cash, Delaney Williams, Abigail Yunker, Kristie Kalis, Jade Simpson on the court as Wittenberg's starting five. The starting line-up accumulated a total of 49 points, 33 rebounds, and an overall shooting percentage of 57.7%. As a team, Wittenberg were 27-62 in field goals, 7-19 in three points, and 10-12 from the line.

The Tigers got started on the wrong foot, only putting up six points in the first quarter from Kalis and Simpson. Despite starting from behind, Wittenberg was able to bounce back in the second quarter with 17 points to head into the half within three. Allegheny was able to get 26 points up on the board compared to the Red & White's 23 in the first half. Wittenberg continued to improve over the next two quarters, putting up a combined 48 points, with Kalis and Simpson continuing to take control on both offense and defense.

Wittenberg Leaders- The Tigers had eight different individuals score, being led by Kristie Kalis with 18 points, going 8-13 from the field and 2-6 in three points. Defensively, Jade Simpson led the way with 15 rebounds.

NCAC Leaders- Five Tigers continue to sit in the top ten in the NCAC for statistics. Kristie Kalis sits at number nine in the conference for points this season with 265 after today's match-up. Jade Simpson leads the Tigers at number seven in the NCAC for field goal percentage at 48%. Kalis continues to lead the way in three points made at number four with 41 shots being made while Yunker sits just outside at number 12 with 24. Yunker comes in at number three in the conference for three-point percentage with an average of 42.1%. Just behind in three-point percentage is Kelsey Ragan at number nine with a 34.0% average. Going 44-53, Yunker lands at number two for field goal percentage with an 83.0% success rate. On the ball control side, Jade Simpson lands at number four in the conference for rebounds with 178; 116 being defensive and 62 being offensive. Delaney Williams sits at number three for assists on the season with 85 and number seven in steals with 38 on the season. Joining in on ball control is Kalis at number three in blocks with 27.
