Tigers Hold Off Maryville 70-69 on Perry's Last-Second Layup

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Kentucky— Wittenberg women's basketball defeated Maryville 70-69 on Sunday, as the Tigers freshman point guard Alexis Perry made a layup with four seconds remaining on the clock in the fourth quarter. The Tigers led 62-48 with just over six minutes remaining in the contest, but the Maryville comeback was in full effect down the stretch. After stealing the lead from the Tigers with a three pointer, the Tigers called a timeout down 69-68 to setup the game winning play. The victory now puts the Tigers at 2-3 on the season, as Wittenberg returns to Springfield to open up NCAC play against the Ladies of Kenyon College on November 30.
