Tigers Sweep Owls On Senior Day

Springfield, OH – The Wittenberg Tiger Softball team celebrated Senior Day with a sweep of the Kenyon Owls. Before celebrating the two wins on the diamond, the Tigers celebrated the four-year careers of seniors Samantha Casteel and Hannah Weymouth.

Wittenberg took game one with a decisive game one win, 9-1, in five innings. The Tigers secured the sweep, taking game two with a shutout win, 5-0. The Tigers collected 18 hits throughout the two games.

Weymouth went 3 for 3 in game one, with one RBI. Casteel added three RBI, going 2 for 2 with a double in the first game of the Senior Day event.

Diana Quevedo added a pair of doubles, going 2 for 2 in the opener against the Owls. Quevedo finished the day, going 2 for 2 in the second game of the series, adding a triple with an RBI and a run scored.

Julie Hall went all five innings in game one, allowing seven hits with one strikeout and one run allowed. Kira van Ravensberg secured her fifth win of the season, going the complete game with seven innings pitched and seven hits allowed and striking out three.
