Wittenberg Men's Volleyball Makes First  MCVL Tournament Appearance

Alliance, OH – The Wittenberg Tiger Men's Volleyball team fell in the first round of their Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League match, 3-1 (25-22, 23-25, 24-26, 21-25), to the Yellow Jackets of Baldwin Wallace University. Making their first ever MCVL Tournament appearance and claiming a share of their first ever MCVL regular season title, the Tigers compiled an overall record of 19-10 and 7-1 in conference action.

Wittenberg was led by Eli Halverson on the night, putting down 16 kills on 31 total attacks for a .419 kill-percentage. Halverson added one block with one dig and one assist in his MCVL debut. Tom Supan added double-digit kills on the night, with 10 to his credit. Supan recorded a .250 clip, adding three service aces, while getting up on one block assist.

The Tigers battled point for point with the Yellow Jackets, recording a higher sideout percent in 3 of 4 sets. As a team, Wittenberg posted a .305 attacking percentage to the Yellow Jackets .252.

Andrew Diaz de Padilla tallied 36 of Wittenberg's 40 assists on the night, adding two kills. Michael Yurk added eight kills on the night. Dominic Melchiorre posted seven kills along with a team high four solo blocks and three block assists.
