Tigers Claim Share of First Regular Season MCVL Title

Cincinnati, OH – The Wittenberg Tiger Men's Volleyball team secured a slice of the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League regular season title, with a 3-0 sweep of the Lions from Mount St. Joseph (25-18, 27-25, 25-22). This is the second regular season league title for Wittenberg and the first since making the move back to the MCVL.

The Wittenberg offense posted a hitting-percentage of .204 on the night, while holding the Lions to just a .087. Leading the Wittenberg attack, Eli Halverson with 13 kills for a .281 hitting percentage. Trajan Kress, followed closed behind, posting 10 kills on 18 swings with a .389 hitting percentage, with two blocks.

Andrew Diaz de Padilla tallied 32 of the Tiger's 39 assists with three digs. Dominic Smith added a team-high 10 digs. Tom Supan tallied five service aces with five kills on the night.

Wittenberg will make their MCVL Tournament debut, taking on Baldwin Wallace on Friday, April 14 from Alliance, Ohio. Mount Union will serve as the host site of the 2023 MCVL Tournament.
