Tiger Men's Volleyball Sweeps Olivet

Olivet, MI – The Wittenberg Tiger Men's Volleyball team continued their road warrior mentality, traveling to Olivet College. Wittenberg secured the 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-15) sweep over the Comets, improving to 15-9 on the season and 4-1 in MCVL action.

Compiling a .269 hitting percentage on the afternoon, Wittenberg nearly doubled the Olivet efficiency through each set. With Tigers posting sets of .333/.200/.296, on the opposite side of the ball, the Wittenberg defense held Olivet in the negative attack in the opening set without allowing the Comets to hit about .112 through the final two.

Eli Halverson and Trajan Kress led the Wittenberg attack with eight kills apiece. Halverson finished the day with a .333 clip, adding one ace from the service line and five digs with three block assists. Kress got in on two block assists with one dig, finishing with a .294 hitting percentage.

Dominic Melchiorre tallied a team-high .429 hitting percentage, putting down seven kills on 14 attacks with just one error. Melchiorre added two aces from service line, with two block assists.

Andrew Diaz de Padilla and Sam Richardson maneuvered the Tiger offense. Diaz de Padilla finished the day with 17 assists adding one kill. Richardson tallied 15 with two kills and a block assist with an ace to his credit.

Kurt Klamfoth led the Tiger defense at the net, finishing the day with a team-high six block assists and two solo blocks.
