Diaz de Padilla Becomes Single Match Leader in Win Over Mount Union

Alliance, OH- Wittenberg headed to Mount Union tonight where they took on the Purple Raiders in their third conference match-up. The Tigers were able to pick up their third conference win of the season in four sets, falling in set one 25-9, but bouncing back in sets two and three 30-28 and 25-17. Mount Union took set four 25-22 but Wittenberg came back in set five 15-12 to take the match.

Wittenberg was led by Eli Halverson with 19 kills and 22 points. Just behind Halverson was Michael Yurk with 16 kills and 16 points. Andrew Diaz de Padilla led in assists with 52 and seven digs to put is name in the record book yet again, this time at the top of single match leaders for assists in a five-set match. Diaz de Padilla surpasses the former leader, Noah Wissel who set the record in 2020.

Wittenberg, now 3-0 in conference play sits at the top of the MCVL rankings. Wittenberg now stands at 14-8 on the season, going 10-4 at home.
