Tigers Sweep Little Giants at Home

Springfield, OH- Wittenberg returned to Pam Evans Smith Arena where they took on the Little Giants of Wabash. The Tigers were able to pick up their twelfth win of the season after sweeping the Little Giants in three sets going 25-15 in set one, 25-16 in set two and 25-14 in the final set.

Wittenberg was led by Dominic Melchiorre with eight kills and 11 points on the night followed by Eli Halverson and Michael Yurk with seven kills each. Andrew Diaz de Padilla led in assists with 18 and six digs. The Tigers had an overall kill percentage of .242 with their most successful kill percentage coming in set two (.345) to take down the Little Giants in three sets.

After their first conference game of the season, Wittenberg sits behind Mount Union and Baldwin Wallace in the MCVL rankings. Leading in MCVL statistics is senior Dominic Melchiorre at number five for hitting percentage. Wittenberg now stands at 12-8 on the season, going 9-4 at home as they enter conference play.
