Jackson Tyler Earns AMCC Athlete of the Week

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Wittenberg OH Jackson Tyler recorded a season-high 20 kills in three sets as the Tigers defeated the Terriers 3-0 on Saturday afternoon to open AMCC action. Tyler posted a .361 hitting percentage on the day adding one assist and four digs. For the week, Wittenberg went 1-1, as Tyler averaged 4.71 kills per set (6.67 in conference play), a .348 hitting percentage and 5.0 points per set (6.7 in conference play).

 

BEST OF THE REST: Geneva MB Quinn McCracken was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Nazareth Invitational for his play over the weekend, as he broke the school record with 26 kills in Geneva's match with Johnson & Wales on Saturday, and in Geneva's four matches he finished with 86 kills (4.30 k/s) on a .310 hitting percentage, while also adding 30 digs (1.50 d/s) and 14 blocks (0.70 b/s)...PS-Behrend OH Dillon Hildebrand became the first player in program history to reach 1,000 kills in his career, registering 23 kills (3.38 per set) in a 2-0 week for the Lions, while also leading with 17 kills in a four-set win over Mt. St. Joseph on Saturday...Thiel OH Mitch Patterson led the Tomcats with 34 kills in eight sets last week, as he averaged 4.25 kills per set, recording 70 total attempts last week and owning a hitting percentage of .229, while also recording nine digs, four blocks and three aces...PS-Altoona S Tyler Sheaffer had an all-around strong match for the Lions in a 3-0 sweep of non-conference opponent St. Vincent on Thursday evening, as he tied for the team lead in points with 10 (3.3 points per set), assists with 10 (3.33 assists per set), and kills with seven (2.33 kills per set), and he also contributed five digs (1.67 digs per set), two service aces (0.67 aces per set), and one solo block (0.33 blocks per set)...Medaille OH Malachi Jackson had his breakout week for the Mavs despite the teams losses, as he had 21 kills which was tied for the most on the team, while playing less sets Jackson had the best kill per set number, while also recording a total of 24.5 points courtesy of one solo block, three block assists, and one service ace...D'Youville OH/MB Dan Busha had another impressive weekend for the Spartans, leading the team on offense throughout their four matches, as he registered 30 kills in four matches, adding 10 digs, three service aces, and four blocks.
