MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin—Wittenberg's men's volleyball team hit .174 and had two Tigers produce double digit kills in the team's 3-1 loss to number fifteen in the country Milwaukee School of Engineering. The Tigers managed to push the match to four sets, but eventually fell to the top-ranked MCVL opponent 18-25, 17-25, 25-23 and 20-25. In the loss, Dylan Kolovitz (Chicago, Illinois/St. Patrick) smashed home 14 kills, while fellow freshman hitter Justin Luby (Akron, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) recorded 15 kills. The Tigers wrap up their first varsity season with the number two team in the country, Carthage college on April 2.
MATCH NOTES
- The Tigers third set win was highlighted by runs of 7-1 and 4-0 before taking the set. 25-23.
- Wittenberg played the second-seeded MCVL tournament tough all night, leading on multiple occasions, including in set one at an 11-6 mark early on in set one.
- On the night, the visiting Tigers collected 47 kills, four blocks, and two service aces against 26 total errors.
- Per usual, Ross Russell (Akron, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) was all over the court, collected 41 assists in the four-set affair.
