Pt. #2: Student-Athlete

SG: What does it mean to be a student-athlete?

MB: To me, being a student athlete means being able to balance the demands of the classroom, the court, and other involvements on campus.

SG: How do you balance your time between Volleyball, coursework, and your other activities on campus?

MB: I firmly believe that "if you fail to plan, you plan to fail".  Therefore, I always outline all that I must accomplish in the day so that I can effectively manage my time throughout the day.

SG: Who is the most studious member of the team?

MB: It's hard to pinpoint one person; there are a lot of very studious people on our team.  There are many nights most of the team will be at the library studying together.

SG: What is the best study tip you have for student athletes?

MB: I definitely recommend taking breaks every hour to reenergize your brain.  Coffee can also be your friend.

SG: What is your favorite study spot on campus?

MB: I prefer to study in Post 95 because of the atmosphere and the easily accessible food.

SG: What is the toughest class you have ever taken and how did you manage it?

MB: Freshman year, I took a class titled East Asian Economies and it was by far the hardest class I've taken during my time at Wittenberg.  Staying on top of the readings and asking questions in class helped me succeed in that class.
