Men's Indoor Track and Field Places Fifth at Cedarville Collegiate Invite

CEDARVILLE — The Wittenberg men's indoor track and field team team placed fifth at the Cedarville Collegiate Invite on Friday night.

The Basics

  • Venue: Doden Field House - Cedarville, Ohio
  • Wittenberg scored 43.5 points and placed fifth of 16 teams at the meet.
  • Cedarville won the team title with 141 points.
  • Central State (106 points) and Wilmington (56 points) rounded out the top three.
  • The meet ended around 1 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Wittenberg's Top Performers

  • Junior Justin Norris (Middletown, Ohio/Middletown Christian) finished fourth in high jump with a mark of 1.82 meters.
  • Sophomore Max Green (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) finished eighth in the weight throw with a mark of 14.68 meters.
  • Senior Sam Callinan (Kettering, Ohio/Fairmont) jumped 4.16 meters to place second in pole vault and was sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.51 seconds.
  • Sophomore Gage Dyke (Frankfort, Ohio/Zane Trace) finished fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 3.86 meters.
  • In the 400-meter dash, senior Ian McCandlish (Lancaster, Ohio/Desales) finished sixth in 52.24 seconds, and senior Zeke Bennett (Hilliard, Ohio/Bradley) was eighth in 52.61 seconds.
  • Senior Matt Rogers (Leander, Texas/Rouse) finished seventh in the 200-meter dash in 23.51 seconds.
  • Junior Bryce Ray (Sun City, Fla./Sumner) added an eighth-place finish in the long jump for the Tigers with a jump of 6.41 meters.
  • Freshman Kane Cissell (LaGrange, Ky./Oldham County) finished second in the triple jump with a mark of 13.17 meters, and freshman Nicolas Farfoglia (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) finished fifth with a jump of 12.17 meters.
  • Freshman Jayden McKinster (Springfield, Ohio/Springfield) placed seventh in the shot put with a mark of 14.03 meters.
