Wittenberg Competes at Denison Quad Meet

Granville, OH- Wittenberg headed to Denison for the Denison Quad meet. The Tigers went up against the Big Red, along with Ohio Wesleyan and Allegheny.

In field events, Alexis Johnson and Stevie Plikerd took home the top spots in the women's long jump. Johnson finished in first with a distance of 5.55m and Plikerd was right behind in second with a distance of 5.21m. Tiffany Moss followed up with a third-place finish in the women's triple jump with a distance of 10.09m. Moss came back in the women's 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.56 and third place finish for the Tigers.

Wittenberg's 4x100 relay team, composed of Seraye Bray, Stevie Plikerd, Tiffany Moss, and Alexis Johnson, also took home a top spot with a first-place finish of 49.54.

On the men's side eleven Tigers claimed a top spot in the meet. Matthew Drovdlic finished in third-place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.41, beating out thirteen competitors. Ezekiel Bennett grabbed another third-place spot for Wittenberg in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.48. The Tigers were able to sweep the podium in the 400-meter dash with Austyn Albanese (50.75), Ian McCandlish (51.50), and Caden Zellner (51.64) going one, two and three. Claiming another third-place finish was Dak Smith in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:57.84.

Wittenberg would claim five more third-place finishes on the men's side from Miles Caine, Cullen Sainey, Sam Callinan, Vincent Roper, and Aaron Rutherford. Caine picked up a third-place finish in the 1500-meter race with a time of 4:24.08. Sainey took home third in the 3000-meter race with a finish of 8:53.56. Callinan finished third in the 400m hurdles at 1:01.52. Roper placed third in the high jump with a height of 1.77m, and Rutherford finished third in the javelin throw.

Wittenberg's 4x100m relay team (Drovdlic, Zellner, Albanese, and Matt Rogers) finished with a time of 43.04 for a first-place finish over the Big Red.
