Tigers Post Sixteen Top Finishes at Wittenberg Quad

Springfield, OH- Wittenberg returned home to host the Wittenberg Quad meet. In attendance were Case Western, Kenyon, and Albion. Wittenberg was able to pick up 58 points on the women's side for a third-place overall finish and 64 points on the men's side for third.

In the field events, Wittenberg took home five top finishes on the women's side. Hannah Schartz had a second-place finish in the high jump at 1.47m. Stevie Plikerd grabbed the top spot in the women's long jump at 5.31m. Alexis Johnson landed in third for the triple jump with a distance of 9.93m. The Tigers were able to grab a second and third-place finish in the women's shot put with Leah Vogt throwing for a distance of 10.90m and Monet Allen throwing 10.85m.

In sprints, Wittenberg had two first-place finishes, a second and a third-place finish on the women's side from Alexis Johnson, Seraye Bray, Stevie Plikerd, and Tiffany Moss. Johnson took home first in the 100-meter race with a time of 13 seconds flat. Following her were Plikerd at 13.09 and Bray at 13.58. Moss took home a third-place finish for the Tigers in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.36. The group finished in first-place for the women's 4x100 meter race with a time of 58.89.

Corin Turkovich finished in second in the women's 1500-meter race with a time of 5:10.83. Sydney Khosla landed a third-place finish in the 5000-meter with a finish of 19:15.31, following at fourth was Elizabeth Canright at 19:31.37.

On the men's side, Wittenberg was able to land five top finishes. In the sprints, Ezekiel Bennett was able to take first in the 400-meter race at 49.67 and a second-place finish with a time of 22.57 in the 200-meter race. In the field the Tigers grabbed a second-place finish from Vincent Roper in the high jump with a height of 1.73m and another second in the long jump with a distance of 6.00m. The men picked up their second first-place finish in the javelin throw with a distance of 43.21m from Noah Greenburg.

Competing prior to the Wittenberg quad were Alexis Gray and Deven Ramsey at the Hillsdale College GINA Relays Meet. Both Tigers were able to post new school records in the 800-meter race. Gray had a three-second outdoor PR and posted a time of 2:11.61 while Ramsey was able to break his record from earlier in the season with a time of 1:53.45.

Up Next: The men and women will be back in action on April 24th in Granville, OH to compete against Denison.
