Tigers Take Host Of First-Place Finishes At Kenyon Invitational

GAMBIER, Ohio - The Wittenberg men's and women's track and field teams both posted solid results at the unscored Kenyon Indoor Invitational Friday night, the women cleaning up in the track events and the men dominating in the field.

The women came home with three first-place finishes, including the first-place 2:26.77 time of sophomore Darcy Dubuc (Grand Haven, Mich./Grand Haven) in the 800-meter run, an event in which the Tigers also collected second and fifth places thanks, respectively, to sophomore Samantha Iden (Pickerington, Ohio/North) and freshman Biz Goodbarn (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Highlands Ranch).

Sophomore Kari Domiano (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome) took top honors in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.64, and freshman Whitney Goller (Findlay, Ohio/Liberty Benton) was number one in the hurdles version with a time of 8.79. SophomoreJordan Stafford (Springfield, Ohio/Greenon) continued the running success with a second-place showing in the 400-meter dash. Sophomore Anna Henry (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston) matched with a runner-up finish in the 5,000-meter run.

On the men's side, the Tigers had one first, one second and one third place finish, all in different field events. Freshman Aaron Hartzell (South Vienna, Ohio/Northeastern) led with the best high jump of the day at 1.87 meters. Freshman Adam Brown (Cincinnati, Ohio/Withrow) followed with a second-place showing in the shot put, and freshman Yandy Plasencia (Granville, Ohio/John A. Ferguson) rounded the medalists out with a third-place mark in the triple jump.

The teams next compete at the All-Ohio Indoor Invitational, hosted by Otterbein in Westerville, Ohio, on Saturday, Feb. 13.
