CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Saving their best performance for the end of the season, Wittenberg's women's 4 x 400 meter relay squad set a new school record as part of the Cedarville Challenge to cap off the season. The Tiger quartet dropped nearly two seconds off the old record en route to a 4:00.60 time, also a new meet record.

The new Wittenberg benchmark is owned by three freshmen,Jordan Stafford (Springfield, Ohio/Greenon)Catherine Kuerbitz (Cleveland, Ohio/Regina), and Samantha Iden (Pickerington, Ohio/North), along with departing seniorKatie Shoemaker (Arcanum, Ohio/Franklin Monroe).

A handful of Tiger men competed in the field events, where Erik Larkin (Cincinnati, Ohio/Country Day) jumped 45' 0.50" in the triple jump as he winds down his illustrious career for the Red and White.

The 4 x 400 record falling was just the latest in a prolific 2008-09 track and field season for Craig Penney's Tigers, who set new marks in eleven events between the men's and women's teams.
