Wittenberg Shows Strength at All-Ohio Championships

DELAWARE, Ohio - Wittenberg faced off against the best in Division III in the state of Ohio with a 12th place showing on the women's side and a 16th spot for the men. A number of strong individual efforts highlighted the Tigers trip to Delaware, Ohio. 

The distance events provided strength for the Tigers, as sophomore Kevin Frick (Columbus, Ohio/Grandview)scored in seventh place in the 10,000 meters with a time of 32:37.16. He joined women's team freshmen Mary Pfeifer (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman) and Anna Henry (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston) as scorers in the event, as the first-year duo took third and sixth, respectively.

Senior Erik Larkin (Cincinnati, Ohio/Country Day) kept his streak of impressive outings going with a third-place leap in the triple jump, traveling 44'8.75". In the hammer, junior Mat Guida (LaGrange, Ky./Oldham County) took fifth with a mark of 143'9".

Freshman Darcy Dubuc (Grand Haven, Mich./Grand Haven) paced thw women's side with a fifth-place turnout in the 1500 meters, running 4:55.33.

With the championship race heating up, the Tigers head to Wilmington this upcoming Saturday, April 18 for the Wilmington Invitational.
