Men's Tennis falls 9-0 to Trine in final game of spring break schedule

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Wittenberg men's tennis team closed out its four-game spring break trip in Florida on Thursday with a 9-0 loss to Trine.

  • Wittenberg junior Ethan Libby (Loveland, Ohio/Loveland) and senior Kyle Fout (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) battled in a tight match on the No. 1 doubles court, ultimately falling 7-8(3) in a tiebreaker.
  • Also in doubles play, junior Mark Trinka (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park and River Forest) and freshman Henry Smith-Heston (Yellow Springs, Ohio/Yellow Springs) fell 2-8 at No. 2, and freshmen Sven Van den Eerenbeemt (S-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands/Gymnasium Beekvliet) and Jacob Bennett (Pickerington, Ohio/Central) fell 2-8 at No. 3
  • Libby fell 1-6, 3-6 at No. 1 singles.
  • Trinka fell 5-7, 5-7 in a tight loss at No. 2 singles.
  • Fout fell 1-6, 0-6 at No. 3 singles.
  • Eerenbeemt fell 4-6, 4-6 at No. 4 singles.
  • Bennett fell 4-6, 3-6 at No. 5 singles.
  • Freshman Andrew Garofoli (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) fell 3-6, 0-6 at No. 6 singles.
