SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers put the finishing touches on a busy but quite productive fall portion of the 2013-14 season with a 7-2 victory over visiting Indiana University-East.

The win was Wittenberg's second in as many dual matches during the fall campaign. Both wins came against scholarship programs.

A strong start in doubles gave the Tigers all the momentum they would need. At No. 1, junior twins Alexey Topolyanskiy (Moscow, Russia/School 712) and Sasha Topolyanskiy (Moscow, Russia/School 712) were winners by an 8-3 count, while freshman Juan Mena (Quito, Ecuador/Colego Amrcano-Quito) and senior Tyler Strong (Louisville, Ky./duPont Manual) paired up for an 8-3 victory at No. 2. Junior Jialang Woo (Shanghai, China/Yew Chung Int. School) and sophomore Mitchell Patterson (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller) rounded things with an 8-5 win at No. 3.

In singles, Alexey Topolyanskiy and Mena dropped just one game between them at the No. 1 and 2 positions. Strong added a straight sets win at No. 3 and freshman Akbar Tiwana (Lahore, Pakistan/Aitchison) chipped in with a straight set victory at No. 5.
