OBERLIN, Ohio - It wound up being a long but productive weekend for the Wittenberg men's tennis team. The Tigers finished up on a losing note, however, after a 6-0 defeat at the hands of Denison in a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Tournament consolation match that was moved indoors due to rain and didn't reach its conclusion until nearly 11 p.m.

Wittenberg concluded the 2012-13 season with a record of 16-8 overall, but the Tigers finished fourth in the final NCAC standings after going 1-2 over the weekend. Seeded fifth, Wittenberg upended fourth-seeded Allegheny in the first round before losing to No. 2 ranked Kenyon in the semifinals and Denison.

The Big Red, the No. 3 seed in the tournament after finishing second in the NCAC West Division behind DePauw, won all three doubles matches to set themselves up for the team victory. In singles play, Denison won matches at the Nos. 4, 5 and 6 flights to secure the team decision. The matches at Nos. 1, 2 and 3 were halted once the victory for Denison was at hand.
